I WENT on at length a while back about the design of the new TARDIS.
To back up some of what I said (at the risk of being called pretentious again) here’s a great video with Edward Thomas, the Doctor Who production designer. Thanks to Time Lord on Facebook for the heads up.

The new TARDIS seems to have a St John’s Ambulance symbol on the door. What’s all that about?
In my mind at least, kissogram is code for stripper. And as for the St John’s Ambulance badge, Peter Cushing’s TARDIS in the Doctor Who films had one, as did Hartnell’s original, so I suppose the Moff just liked the look of them and is paying homage. Of course, there could be a deeper, timey-wimey reason, but there’s no evidence of that yet.
