MSN go science fiction crazy on their video player

Posted by xxnapoleonsolo on 5th November , 2009

A MASSIVE Scifi Love tip o’the cap goes to the geeks over at MSM, who have charged up their video player with bags of classic science fiction goodness.

If you follow the link, you can watch the BBC The Day Of The Triffids series, The Quatermass Experiment starring David Tennant, Neil Gaiman’s Neverwhere series, and classic Doctor Who story The Web Planet , starring William Hartnell.

All of those are exceptional, although if I was pushed I’d recommend you read the book of Neverwhere as Neil Gaiman wrote it because he was disappointed by the amount of stuff the BBC series couldn’t do because of budget.

If anyone wants me, I’ll surface after the weekend after watching this stuff front to back. Here’s some clips to whet your appetite.

I’m very fond of Neverwhere, though the Web PLanet strikes me as one of the least friendly places to try and introduce new viewers to Doctor Who. I’ve personally never watched it all the way through.

Watched all of the Triffids again recently for the first time since I was a nipper. Very frightening, but the pace of the thing is the key.
