Doctor Who monsters and me in Mathew Street, Liverpool

Me and a Cyberman
Me and a Cyberman

I FOUND myself right in the middle of some of Doctor Who‘s iconic monsters today when they visited Liverpool.

The Cyberman, Silurian, clockwork robot and scarecrow were invading Mathew Street, the birthplace of The Beatles, to promote the Doctor Who Live show, which is on tour around the UK later this year.

For a geek like me it was thrilling stuff.

Seeing the costumes up close was an eye-opener as they are fantastically detailed and realistic – unnerving even, especially the clockwork robot.

The actors inside them were very friendly too and enthusiastic about the live concert tour (especially Jenny, the Silurian – I wouldn’t have minded going into hibernation with her!).

If you want to find out about that, visit the website www.Doctorwholive.com

In the meantime, here’s a video report I produced for the Liverpool Echo and Daily Post, and some more pictures taken by my friend and colleague, Paul Heaps.
