David Hasselhoff’s True Survivor video has Hitler, the 1980s, dinosaurs and vikings

My God! Did I pick the right time to start blogging again or did I?

David Hasselhoff has brought out a new video called True Survivor which is all kinds of 1980s-inspired time-travelling awesome.

The video is part of the Kung Fury project, a Kickstarter backed homage to 1980s cop films with the tagline “An 80s action comedy about a super kung-fu cop in Miami in the 1980s, who decides to travel back in time in order to kill Adolf Hitler.”

In his video, the Hoff fights bad guys, rides a dinosaur and does the whole knowing 1980s naff hero self-parody thing he has made his own since Knight Rider finished. The song isn’t that bad either.

“The 80s was about fun, action, and heroes,” says David Hasselhoff. “Kung Fury has it all! I’m honored to be involved with [director] David Sandberg, an up-and-coming force of nature in the animation digital entertainment world.

“The song is perfect for me as I really am, in real life, a True Survivor.”

Having watched more than my fair share of 1980s cop films I’d definitely be up for watching that. Here’s the full trailer below and find out more about Kung Fury by clicking here.
