Apart from the fact that Fry is a Doctor Who fan, his point about the "infantilism" of tv has to do with tv in general...he is wrong to single out Doctor Who. What was once a "childrens show that adults enjoy" has now become part of the trend of aiming everything at a young audience...hence The Doctor is played by much younger actors & it is written with a teen audience in mind, much the same as any number of American shows.

Doctor Who lacks the British "feel" of old & like Britain as a nation, it has been Americanised...flashy, music to the fore, quick but empty dialogue, emphasis on physical appearance. It certainly lacks the charm & innate Britishness that it once had.

The Doctor said from the start "You gave me hope and then you took it away. That's enough to make anyone dangerous. God knows what it will do to me." His previous incarnation once said (after letting an alien plummet to his death because he tried to stab the doc in the back) that his enemies only get one chance with him. Now (spoilers) examine the situation that lead up to House's death. He's killed hundreds of timelords, including the doctor's close friends. He's tried to kill the Tardis herself. He's been tormenting Amy and Rory as a prelude to killing them. When the Doctor arrives, he offers House vital information for leaving the pocket dimension in exchange for sparing the doctor and his companions. House agrees. The doctor then gives him information that SEEMS to provide a way to get into the normal universe AND conviently erase the group from existence. House doesn't hesitate to attempt to kill them again. Instead, they wind up in the control room and the Tardis is able to turn the tables on House. The Doctor literally gave House the rope that hung him. Had House kept his word he would still be alive. To my mind, that was the doctor's way of giving a second chance to a completely contemptible and remorseless being.

Wow, this list is perfect. I really couldn't agree more. Deus X was pretty awesome in my opinion but I probably wouldn't have included it on the list. Other than that, the last 4 are in the specific order I would have put them. It's surprising how accurate this was to my own thoughts.

Why are any of the characters doing any of this? Right from Winston Churchill asking the time when the time is always the same, and then telling somebody who knows that time is always the same, this was going to be quite stupid. How is the easiest assassination plot for the Doctor to fix a point in time when his companions' daughter who is a bit time lordy, and has been brainswashed, and has a past or present history of marrying the doctor to be in an uncontrollable space suit and shoot him at a lake in Utah. With a backup plan of having this same companions' daughter grow up as her parents annoying friend try to kill the Doctor at some other conventient time?

This was meant to be so clever and it is so stupid.
